Description:
Hey all! This is the latest mission in the alt-history campaign I've been working on. This scenario can be played as a standalone, or as a continuation of that campaign if you failed to capture Rostov in Op. Dione.
Following a failed attempt to capture Rostov in the Winter, the Soviets focus on preparing for the Summer Offensive. However, the Germans seize the initiative and attack along the Don in a bid to disrupt the Soviets' fuel production in the Caucasus.
Soviet units are thrown into disarray and and forced into the fight without being fully up to strength or supplied.
I really enjoyed making this scenario. It has you duking it out with German armor around Rostov while your own spearheads have to contend with dug-in defenders along the Mius and Donets. Having to reorganize and shift your units as reinforcements arrive and attrition takes effect is sure to keep you on your toes, but I think the overall experience is a lot more fun than I usually accomplish.
As always, comments, constructive criticism, and questions are always welcome. I hope you have fun!
Comments:
Excellent! great challenge and plenty of room to maneuver and create weaknesses. very tough, though!
I haven't finished yet, so I don't have a complete review for you yet, but one quick note - I like the tough Romanian armored and infantry unit in the north. Formidable Romanian units are rare and this is one of the few scenarios where I've seen Romanian units destroy a Russian unit that wasn't severely weakened - those two are not to be underestimated.
