Description:
hi there,
my first scenario. hope you like it. opinions welcome. hope i did nothing wrong here, my english is not perfect.
thank you.
the scenario: defense fight on the german side in the ukraine in early 1944. because of past mistakes of the OKH and OKW Manstein could not drive a flexible strategy.
Comments:
very good! i got a victory by slogging through - AI was sluggish so I just pounded away and eked out a victory on the last turn. fun!
Great Scenario! Cutting the Soviet supply lines did the trick. Just a sidenote: Panzer Regiment Bäke had a considerable number of Tiger tanks in its ranks so I attached Tigers to them instead of Marder tank destroyers
Nice, but needs some tweaking for AI playing:
In the first turn, the Axe can break the pocket and run for Kiev and the north east supply.
The soviet infantry will not react.
Likewise, the AI will not prevent a panzer breakthrough to Cherkasy in the South East.
Result: soviets are wiped out on turn 5.
Highly enjoyable!
Though... "Hitler intervened, however, and ordered the attack be transformed into an effort to counter-encircle the two Soviet army groups." I did find a way to follow Hitlers orders and encircle all the Soviet troops.
thank you for the great feedback for my first scenario! a second one is now online!
Great scenario! Its too bad the engine can't set other types of victory objectives (other than points on the map). Something along the lines of save x-ammount of steps from inside the pocket... Anyway - real good fun - specially on the first run through.
Exceptional scenario. You better think hard on the first turn or the rest of the game is wondering what happened. I would gladly pay $5 for this scenario. On turn two the AI went hog wild all over the map. Never seen such a leap attack by the AI. Game was won, but difficult choices, on turn five...the third time I played it! lol Great job indeed and keep designing scenarios because you have a talent. Thank you.
Good One! Got a "skin of my teeth first time" victory out of the deal and it was CLOSE! I have preferred the Soviet player since my "Panzerblitz" days way back in the 70s but this one is a lot of fun. When I try it again I will try to save more of the Cherkassy pocket as all that survived in this one was the armor.
