August 27th 1942,

By relocating large parts of Von Mannstein's fortress busting 11th Army the Germans hope to bring a victorious end to the siege of Leningrad, which has lasted almost a year. However: mere weeks prior to the arrival of these re-inforcements the Soviets launch a relief effort.

Historically Operation Nordlicht never materialized. The Soviet Sinyavino Offensive hit the German troops guarding the approach to Leningrad so hard that the 11th Army had to be used as re-inforcements for this sector rather than for storming Leningrad.

SCENARIO NOTES:

1. It is assumed that the Finns have been convinced into supporting the German attack.

2. The Red Army is deployed as divisions.
