Specialists!
Specialists!
The manual does not talk about them in detail. Could use some explanation beyond what the game already provides. Case in point: recon. Do any special rules apply to it?

Re: Specialists!
I second that. We know there are special rules to artillery and engineer, but beyond that, no information.

It's on steam, but basically most specialist steps only got hightened attack, defense and armour values. They may or may not be towed eiter.

Yes, but engineers help counter entrenchment/attack across rivers. At least from my observations. But that's not really explained unless you look at the detailed shifts in combat outcome in when highlighting an attack move.
Artillery is also required for the special attacks, but it's not really clear anywhere unless you carefully read all detailed tooltips.
So, it would safe to assume other specialist steps have special rules that are not exactly highlighted anywhere

The manual is available on Steam, direct link here:

It is not 100% complete yet, but we're getting there. Feel free to check out Sampstra's guides as well:

Recon in particular has more movement points. Also it is good to add them to tanks with other specialists, as recon gets destroyed first, and it is quite cheap

First: UoC 2 is a great game. Only real flaw is it is too short despite its huge size. I am close to finished "Advance to Antwerp" at Classic and can see the end. I might try a new campaign at hard difficult setting afterwards.
Second: I want tables explaining what every specialist do in detail for both the allied and the axis. Specialist are a too important part of the game to leave to guesswork.

Trust me, there is still quite a ways to go from Advance to Antwerp.
