Just finished Barbarossa

So it took me a bit longer than expected to finish the Barbarossa campaign. Life got in the way, but so did it's scenario lenght and (I believe) higher difficulty. In no particular order, and not particularly criticising anything, just sometimes vanting, here are my main thoughts after this: ⋅&...

AI aggression level

Hello I bought the new Barbarossa dlc and have been playing with the standalone scenarios before starting the campaign. Is the AI coded to be more aggressive in this DLC? I can't count the number of times where veteran full steps infantry units with specialists got obliterated by the Russians becaus...

Re: Race Across France help

Wanted to apologize for being a big baby. I was out of line with my moaning. Not sure what was going on in my head, but sorry for bringing down the generally upbeat and helpful forum here. I am embarrassed by my tone of the posts from the other day. The game remains a stellar experience, and while ...

Re: Suggested AI Improvements

Lots of valid points. The AI is indeed pretty good at offering a retreating defense, but fails on those crucial points. My two cents: ⋅  Oppose River Crossings. The issue may stem from the AI being unable to "see" the pontoon. As in, there are no checks in the AI logic for newly ...

Re: Sickle Stroke Glitch (?)

Well, the scenario designer's idea is that you can't use the rail, so that's what we want to achieve. However, we can't just edit the map because the same map is used in all scenarios: allied ones in the base game, and other axis scenarios in the DLC. I think the solution will be to just move the r...

Re: Unternehmen 25 on Classic

I've typically done it in two ways ⋅ Make the Hungarian HQ push towards Beograde on the east side of the Danube such that it can build a bridge. This is somewhat luck dependant on the AI not defending the other side of the river, so not a high sucess rate ⋅ Use 8 PzD. 16 ID takes...

Re: Crete in ONE turn

Hahaha! Well done. I got it in 6-7 turns with an overaboundance of cards as well (battleship really helps I find). What difficulty level was this?

Blitzkrieg DLC Historical Path - Thoughts & Suggestions

Just finally finished this wonderful DLC. Lots of fun and really challenging. I play on classic difficulty and it really felt rewarding to get every objectives on time given how tight it was. First off, Stug Life  . MVP specialist step for the on-the-go German panzer with a busy conquering sche...

Re: Retreat question

This is somewhat counterintuitive. In a general probabilistic model, if you have a 100% odd of something happening, that means that whatever random number you draw, you should have that outcome. If there are random draws which make it such that the unit will not withdraw, then you can't have 100% od...
