Re: Barbarossa DLC Testing
Again the last-minute call? Wow, guys, you are amazing. There are few devs who are giving the almost finished game to testing. Looking forward to visit the Eastern front. Meet the old comrades, and help where I can. Hopefully, it will be stressful as it was for the Germans, once the first rains sta...

Totally. Anything that makes use of the Norway map is to be welcomed.

Motorising HQ maroons units in Appennines
I motorised Leese's HQ on turn 1 of the Roads from Rimini scenario, only to find the circled units now can't leave their start hexes because they're motorised and surrounded by mountains. They're also terminally OOS unless I use emergency supply or airdrops. stuckgif.gif Any chance of adding the abi...

Re: Eastern Front & other theatres
By including the Normandy map the devs have shown us they're willing to add alternate map scales. God willing they'd do the same for the Berlin, Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad areas. For example, taking Moscow in the otherwise excellent Typhoon scenario felt about as climactic as raking leaves off...

Re: OOB Compared To UOC II
And I have now bought UOC 2 and about 100 hours in - very rich, very deep game - certainly more sophisticated than OOB or Panzer Corps - on the other hand - it is nice to pick your own air force in OOB, your own Tigers etc. Nothing like having 10 Stukas to take care of your campaigns :-) The fluidi...

Re: Compare this game to others like it
Other than being hex-based and turn-based with a WW2 theme, UoC was a near-total departure from the clapped-out Panzer General model. That's what makes it so good. Both Panzer Corps and OoB were insulting and overpriced rehashes of a concept that reached its fullest potential with Pacific General ov...

Re: this negative steam review of UOCII worries me: is it accurate?
The reviewer is wrong - dumb luck played a far bigger role in UoC1 as people are saying.
Among other improvements I like how a patch of bad weather in the wrong spot isn't the kiss of death any more.

Thanks for this. Should point out I'm on US / Canada Pacific time; I assume most of the rest of you are in Europe.

Re: Donbas Nip, any tip?
Hate to necro but I have never won a BV (or even a win) with anything other than a Rostov first strategy. If I go for Rostov, I can usually win on T6. This is basically because possession of Rostov, the bridge to the east and some sort of chain back to the Mius bridge shuts down any threat from the ...
