Show Combat Calculation?
Is it possible to get a detailed Combat calculation before attacking? How odds number is calculated - Show all shifts and how losses are calculated?

Re: Show Combat Calculation?
The full calculation is never available in the game, but how the calculation is done is explained in the Manual on pages 20-24.
A full example of a combat calculation is then included on pages 24-25.

Re: Show Combat Calculation?
Concerning the random element of combat, i.e. combat losses. On page 22 of the manual it mentions that losses are slightly randomised - does this mean a +1 or -1 shift on the Combat Results Table? Or can the shift be greater?
Is there a random element used on the Retreat Table?
Cheers

The shifts from random can be greater, although most of the time they're -1, 0 or +1. Technically, a Gaussian distribution with a sigma of 1 is used.

Yes, retreat odds are randomized in the same way to get the actual retreat probability, which means it can be slightly higher or lower than what's on the sheet.
It's interesting to note that overrun odds are not randomized in this way. There was a real good reason why this is so, but I didn't write it down at the time and now I can't remember. I'll edit this post if it comes to me.
