What happens to units that don't show up again?
Sometimes I've taken to disbanding units when I have some extra turns left so I can get replacements, as they don't seem to come back. For example in Wadi Akrit I disbanded the US armor TF unit, and the infantry RCT unit, as well as 8th Army's L-Force. I reasoned that since I don't see them again I ...

Re: Eastern Front & other theatres
Although Pacific war ground combat (islands etc) don't seem too suited, it could be interesting to see a Manchuria scenario either as a standalone or as part of a Soviet campaign. This fighting was closer to a "traditional" European West/East Front battle with wide open spaces and maneuver...

Re: The Unit Balance Thread
Yeah, I usually try to stick Churchills/Priests/Engineers to some British infantry divisions so I don't have to rely on towed equipment all the time. A Hobart with armor and engineers would definitely ruin balance as well, although that won't stop me from modding it in myself in single player :D Bac...

Re: Capturing Fortified Cities/Mountain Passes
Alternatively I believe a set piece attack with engineers are guaranteed (if I recall correctly) to reduce any entrenchment value to 0. I also notice the AI doesn't seem to entrench during the game so they won't dig in again if you dig them out once.

Re: The Unit Balance Thread
On a separate note, I find the use of the Hobart tanks quite sad. Historically this unit had bulldozers, heavy cannons and flamethrowers to crack through defensive positions, while in game their only special ability is to hang around during amphibious landings and river crossings, both of which are ...

Re: The Unit Balance Thread
Why nerf TD specialists? All Allied infantry are far, far too weak to German tanks as is. Now the Sherman tank specialist really does need a buff. +1 armor essentially disappears against the German AT value, so it is worthless most of the time attached to the infantry. Same with the Cromwell. The ar...

Do Patton's II Corps abilities transfer to 3rd Army?s abilities t
Question on the title. I've been spending some prestige on Patton in the first scenarios but I'm not sure if it's worth it to really invest too much in him, especially since II corps is only around in 3 scenarios. Does this spending go to 3rd Army?

Yeah I never land the full Allied force in Italy, only the ones that can get in a forest or city. The tanks are almost guaranteed to wipe you out.

Re: More deployment options and choice of units to carry over
I've started to look ahead. Fortunately the strategic map shows you the next scenarios, so I can go straight to the scenario see which divisions and armies will be there next. Some units stick around for a really long time (e.g. British 7th armored division follows us everywhere! As do the lower num...

More deployment options and choice of units to carry over
It would be nice, since the unit strengths and experience carry over, to be able to know which units will be in the next scenario and to pick (to some extent) the starting positions of units. Sometimes I have two divisions, one was destroyed and returns as a regular while another is an elite unit wi...
