Re: Suggestions Thread
If conservation of force is not part of historical accuracy then what is? I can not think of very many battles where losses were immaterial so long as your side was the last one standing on a few pieces of ground. You're absolutely right that conservation of force is historically relevant. So is, f...

Re: Suggestions Thread
I also want the challenge of having to be concerned with my own losses. As it stands now, as long as I achieve the objectives on time my own casualties are irrelevant. If we could add a condition such as maintain a certain loss ratio while achieving the objectives that problem would be eliminated. ...

Re: Just like to say thanks
1.When would I ever want to blow up a bridge? I could understand in a defensive position that denying the use of a bridge could be important but as you are always the attacker in games against the AI surely you need the bridges to facilitate movement? 2. Partisans - they don't actually appear as un...

Re: Step Recovery Question
There are two kinds of ways a unit's steps can be reduced: destroyed steps and suppressed steps. Destroyed steps are removed and are never coming back, regardless of supplies. The only way to replace destroyed steps are to reinforce the unit with steps you got from reorganizing other units. Suppress...

Re: Newbie Help
I had a realization about cavalry recently which contradicts what I said previously: Cavalry has the "normal" (or "standard", I forget the exact wording) movement type, unlike the "mobile" movement type shared by tank/motorized units. Units with normal movement can trav...

Re: Newbie Help
First, the easy clarifications. The " you can disband units way in the back and add them instantly to the front without penalty (other than xp) " mechanic you mention doesn't quite work the way you describe it. To start with, there are two ways to get rid of a unit: disbanding and reorgani...

Tactic: Feeding the Specialists
Having played about a quarter of the way through the new DLC (which is excellent, by the way) I have finally had an idea crystallize into a coherent strategy. I haven't seen this strategy explicitly spelled out here in the forums so I wanted to write up a little guide for it here. The idea, in summa...

Re: AI Fortifying in the Snow
Hmm, I just assumed that was you guys giving the AI a little boost in some of the scenarios. My bad. I will find a saved game and send it to support when I get the chance this evening.

AI Fortifying in the Snow
I've seen this in both the Axis and the Russian campaigns, where there will be mud or snow covering an area and an enemy unit without an engineer will spend their action entrenching themselves. I understand, for the sake of the scenario, that you want certain key points entrenched even if the weathe...
