Fall Blau 1 crossing major river

Bonus objective on turn 7 taking Voronezh requires one to cross a major river. I can do that using pontoons but I cannot actually attack across it. On the other bank there are fully fortified units all across it. How do you solve this?

You just need to get there earlier. There's always the possibility of making a river assault with infantry, but that will most likely be extremely costly, so it's better to do it after softening the tile with bombardment.
