Do Patton's II Corps abilities transfer to 3rd Army?s abilities t

Question on the title. I've been spending some prestige on Patton in the first scenarios but I'm not sure if it's worth it to really invest too much in him, especially since II corps is only around in 3 scenarios. Does this spending go to 3rd Army?

For upgrade purposes, we treat the following as one persistent HQ: II Corps -> 7th Army -> 5th Army

We understand that this isn't historically correct, but it works in game terms. Actual US command arrangements in the period were just too convoluted for any sensible game mechanic.
