Re: Details Details Details

The best approach towards immersion is by NOT being overly specific about details. With such an approach everything gets back to normal and the game has its old charm. Looking at the setting in broad strokes and just enjoying the gameplay. In the first playthrough, I wasn’t even bothered by the time...

Historicity, reality, accuracy are the terms that very often pop up in wargaming circles. All of those terms are related to a share of their own problems in game design. Various perceptions are dependent on knowledge of an observer. In order to appreciate history one has to know the facts. Popular m...

Re: Better than brilliant victories

Thanks for the info. This corresponds to my previous impression. I think this is also one of the things that could be improved in a new game, more skill and less randomness for the highest level of victory. And of course, extraordinary result and effort, like the one you showed, could have bonus rew...

Re: Better than brilliant victories

Nice information you got here! Congratulation on the effort. What would interest me is how many tries did it take you to achieve those results considering you are veteran of before? My impression was how there is a lot of randomness in the game when going for the BV. Also, did you used prestige to b...

Stalingrad Campaign 1942-43 (Soviet)

Stalingrad Campaign 1942-43 (Soviet) is arguably easier than Axis campaign. Playing as Soviets is different experience due to their lower strength across the board. It all comes down to cutting Axis off supply and waiting for unit efficiency to drop considerably before annihilating the enemy. Partis...

Re: Map editor

What impressed me the most with the map editor was seeing river path tool on this blog post: https://unityofcommand.net/blog/2012/07/12/map-making-for-fun-and-profit/ . The only thing better than that is how the coastal area looks like in terms of variety. I would love to learn more about how those ...

Re: Any MP takers?

One of the best ways to master game mechanics and unit abilities is by playing PvP. Other skilled player will simply force you to become better at play more than any challenge against AI. Hotseat, playing against yourself, is a good preparation for particular scenario. It gives one a feeling of both...

Re: Where do I put the scenarios??

Hi and welcome to the forum! I did the following: go to Load Game than Open Saved Games Folder than navigate to Unity of Command folder than user and scenarios . Copy scenario there. To play it go to Main Menu >>> Scenario >>> User Generated Scenarios . Good luck with it. :D

Any MP takers?

I started 2nd Kharkov PvP if anyone is interested to give it a try. BTW this is a line from scenario briefing: " PvP version of 2nd Kharkov will be a Soviet scenario, not Axis. This is just a placeholder to test the PvP code. " I guess you realized by now how multiplayer community is rathe...
