Unit icon reference chart

Unread postby Nenad Jalsovec » Thu Nov 17, 2011 12:55 pm

I've posted the unit icon reference chart over at the blog. It's a breakdown of all of the unit types that are in the game. Check it out.

Looks lovely :) Except the alpini, they look silly :P But i don't think that's your fault. More the Italians own fault. But certainly nice looking little counters. And i wonder if we will be seeing more unit types in the future.

You mean like Hungaro-Romanian Motorized Cavalry?

But seriously, yeah, the concept for icons is to represent the most dominant or recognizable piece of equipment or uniform, so there will surely be some new designs in eventual upcoming scenarios, the look depending on year, theater and scale.

Well i do see units named as cavalry but they're just represented as infantry :P So i have to wonder ;) or for that matter Romanian Mountain infantry. And certainly looking forward to more additions.

IIRC from back when the look was decided these units were, historically, just nominally "Cavalry" and "Mountain" while in effect they were not much different from ordinary infantry. Hence the same icon.

I assumed that they'd just eaten their horses by that stage of the war :)

It would have been really worrisome if they did the same to the trucks too
