Red Turn DLC

Unread postby Tomislav Uzelac » Mon Dec 10, 2012 6:44 pm

Hi all,

the Red Turn DLC is now available from our site. Remember, to run the DLC, you need to upgrade the game to 1.04:

Many thanks to everyone in the team who made this release possible, and to all the testers who worked really hard over the last two weeks to deliver you this DLC.

Cheers! :)

Press Coverage
I'll be keeping the press coverage list for Red Turn in this post for the moment, as the main game post has become a bit unwieldy.

After the game with East Front 42-43 and the first DLC with East Front 43-45, why not Barbarossa 41-42 in the next DLC ?

Yeah, then we'd have the whole war on the Eastern Front covered, but some parts with Finland vs Soviet Union, Winter War (39) and Continuation War (41-44), could also be added

We're still thinking about ways to add scenarios featuring the Finns. The Soviet attack that knocked Finland out of the war in two main phases is too small to cover in my opinion as it would require two different small scenarios, but a Finnish scenario in 1941 is quite possible somewhere in the future.

Very cool. This is one of the aspects of the Eastern Front that's often forgotten and pretty unknown in Western and Middle Europe. BTW, the knockout blow that threw Finland out of the war featured some of the biggest battles in Northern Europe in all of history, including German forces). Would be cool if you included it.

The main problem with modelling it would be that the Soviets would, for a historical advance, just advance a couple of hexes (counted from their pre-summer 1944 advance north of Leningrad) to get to the line they reached. If I had the room from a bit north of Leningrad to about Viipuri, than it would be quite possible, but now I'd have to create two small, separate scenarios for that. It's purely a scale issue to me, it isn't due to lack of interest or anything. I'd like to, but I just fear the scenarios would be too small.

I may still give it a go, however.

well regarding the easter front....maybe a 41-42 campaign will be better due to the fact that the finnish front was just a side show.
lets say...barbarossa campaign will be very easy to make, the map already exist, you just must make the scenarios....

But this game has an immense potential, african front, european front 40 and 44-45, italian campaign.
So from my perspective the red turn should be the beginning...

So with so many perpsectives, the finish front seems like you the developers are afraid to support the game in a more greater manner.
Its just an impresion....forgive my entuziam...but this is my oppinion.
