German tank values

Unread postby mttodd1 » Wed Feb 19, 2020 6:50 am

Hi, my first post and I really like the game.

But have issue with German tank values, they seem incorrect, but maybe I am misunderstanding something ?

Following are German tank/self-propelled values:

Tiger I A9 D8 S2 * How can attack value be same as Tiger 2,should be lower ?
Tiger 2 A9 D9 S3
Stug IIIG A8 D8 S3 * How can attack value be same as Jadgpanther, should be lower ?
JadgPanther A9 A8 D9 S4

Appreciate any comments on above.

Thanks.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the game and welcome to the forums :)

Well, the specialists are not a raw vehicle vs. vehicle stats type of thing. They are abstracted values for a multitude of division/corps/army level attachments of differing sizes. Simulating which impact they would have on an operational scale. For instance: While late war german heavy tank battalions were impressive, they were also slow, cumbersome and fragile in an operational sense - specially on the attack.

The names are more of a flavour thing, were we in most instances picked the most commonly used vehicle to describe the specialist. "Tiger 2" is simply easier on the eyes and UI than "late war german heavy tank battalion".
And it also gives us some wiggle room to use the same spec to represent several different historical units that may have varied in composition and size.

Having said that, the specialists are in for a slight overhaul in update 12 (next one is update 11). An update which will be rather substantial in many ways... tease tease.

Cheers!
