Random question from new player..

Unread postby MrGrump1914 » Sun Dec 29, 2019 1:35 am

Hello, I've tried the various tutorials and checked out the manual and some of the more likely forum posts. Also, played through the Wadi scenario once now (on easy).

1) Increase HQ command points: only way to do this is in-scenario promotions?

2) Is it possible to get any of the "unit" cards as the/an initial free card?

3) is there any rating of the various scenarios (easy, medium, difficult, etc.) as in UOC-1?

4) are there any orders of battle available for the various scenarios (this could be done by each player, but would save time if publicly available)? well, at least for allies?

5) There don't seem to be any anti-aircraft attachments; is this true?

6) I'm not getting the recon in force operation ability? any good explanations to point me too?

Thanks in advance!

1) The only way to increase HQ command points is through in-scenario promotions. You get promotions by gaining XP with units in range of your HQ, or capturing certain bonus objectives. HQ command points are always offered as an option at promotion time (up to 9 command points), but they always cost prestige.

5) There are no anti-aircraft specialists.

6) During a conference, you can pay prestige to upgrade your HQs, which gives them additional capabilities, such as recon in force. Note that while you can only get command points through in-scenario promotions, you can only gain new capabilities through upgrades at a conference. Generally, upgrading your HQs is a high priority, with the following capabilities from most important to least: set-piece attack, feint, suppression fire, bridge repair, emergency supply, motor pool, bridge building, everything else. There is an advantage to upgrading even if you do not intend to use the capabilities. Every time you move your HQ, two upgrades are suppressed, usually the highest level ones. At the start of each turn, one upgrade is unsuppressed. So additional upgrades reduce the likelihood that moving your HQ will suppress a capability that you actually care about.
