Hi all,

we are now working on bigger updates that require some testing before being released. If you want to help us test, or just check out some of the new features and fixes, you can do so by switching to the "beta" branch on Steam.

To make the switch just go to your Steam Library, right-click the game and select 'Properties'. Click on the 'BETAS' tab and from the drop-down menu select 'beta - Branch with untested beta features'.

(To switch back, just follow the same procedure and choose 'None - opt out of all beta programs').

New features:
  • Click on an objective on the sheet to highlight it
  • Allowed --log kwarg
  • Unit sheet tooltips
  • Hold X to lock and inspect the combat sheet
  • When creating a new scenario, map selector is now a menu
  • Create a new standalone scenario by copying an existing scenario from the campaign
  • XP / level-up combat messages
  • Next unit / Skip unit buttons now cycle through prepositioned assets
  • Added HQ XP lost messages

Fixes:
  • Fixed scenario score when objective is taken on game start
  • Fixed beaches on the Europe map
  • Assault Crossing action fixes
  • Store/elite store: no deployment on emergency supplied unit
  • Card deck fixes
  • UI system fixes
  • Fixed para plane and LCI performance bug

What does this mean?

Overall this sounds tremendous.

I see you allowed us to select different maps in the scenario editor via dropdown - OK, that's good. Have you guys updated the scenario editor to make moving the playable area more comprehensible? If that's waiting for a future editor, then cool.

The --log thing is there if we need players to provide us with more detailed logs when we need to fix something. An example is "--log uoc2.sounds" which will log all sound events.

It's on the list, but it won't happen before the holidays.

It's not that hard to change the playable area now, if you think of the "playable area hex array" as points in a xy coordinate space, but I appreciate it's not everyone's cup of tea :D

True, but it would help if I could at least get a visual aid. When I press whatever combination of keys that is to show coordinates, it doesn't show anything.

The default key for showing UVs in the editor is Z. Have you remapped it? Also, this only works in the editor.

Huh. Well I'll be darned. That works. I was still going off what it said in the editor thread in the beta, which was cntrl-shift-f2 or something.
