I would think achieving the bonus objective in RAF would give me a better starting position in the Scheldt scenario (I crossed the river to get a bridgehead), but that doesn't seem to be the case now that I'm playing the first scenario of the next stage ... What gives? What is the advantage supposed to be?

It's not the Sheldt in race across France, iirc, it's a different river.

Sorry, the scenario I meant was Advance to Antwerp, of course. (It's quite a race too ) It's the same river there.

We have fixed quite a few bugs regarding this "selection of variant based on captured bonus objectives".

I think what you describe should have been fixed already in Update 7. The final (fingers crossed) fix will go in Update 8 tomorrow.

No worries, I'm enjoying the experience thoroughly, and you've been quick with the updates! Still on my first playthrough (on Normal) - I will gladly play it all again after finishing to see all the changes in effect.
