Good Introductory Scenario?

Unread postby Ritalingamer » Sat Nov 23, 2019 11:59 pm

A friend is interested in the game, possibly because he sees me playing it all the time and I keep posting about it on Facebook.

Assuming I walk him through the tutorials, what would be a good introductory scenario to give him a taste for the game without overwhelming him? What would be a good map to try in Hotseat multiplayer?

Wadi Akarit is designed to be the first real scenario someone plays. It shows you most aspects of the game while leaving room for errors (on easy and normal). Once a player can beat it comfortably on easy then up it to classic or normal. On classic you really need to learn the "essence" of unity of command: it's not about killing the enemy - it's about maneuver and logistics (and then killing the enemy if there is time). It's very hard to get out of the "kill everything that moves before advancing"-mentality for many new players as it's different from most other war games in that regard.

So yea, Wadi Akarit would be my recomendation :)
