The campaign - like it's now - should be obligatory at hard level, but at lower levels of difficulty it should be possible to enable or disable this option IMHO

I have to admit that I got really angry at Devs today
All because we can't undo the game if we have finished the conference.
Of course, I was already in Normandy during the last conference, so I spent all available funds to strengthen the HQ of the armies assigned to landing in France.
Unfortunately, I forgot about Monte Majo objective in 4th Cassino scn, where it is very useful to buy specialist engineers for units neighboring Monte Majo hex (but I spent everything during the conference  )
I admit that I had enough of beating my head against the wall and after 10 attempts to conquer Monte Majo, having very bad thoughts about the creators of this game   , I wanted to start everything again from the beginning... (Wadi Akarit again  nooo)
However, the game gives you the opportunity to get out of such a hopeless situation. I thought everything over again and came up with a brilliant idea, I built 3 pontoon bridges on a bridgehead next to Monte Majo, with the help of an armored unit I chased the Germans from behind the river in the south (on the coast) and cleaned this damn hex - what a satisfaction with a job well done... 8-) :D

I wanted to boast of some outstanding achievements while playing at Classic level

1. Sicily map the express pace

2. Market Garden all objective

3. Race across France, when Lyon was or wasn't captured earlier

You'll keep most units through the whole campaign, notable exceptions being units with obviously temporary designations like RCT (whatever it was called) that you get in the first mission, and the airborn divisions. You really don't need to minmax that bad, as over the course of a campaign you'll probably be spending over a couple thousand prestige on re-enforcements and upgrades, so losing a couple specialist steps, while annoying, is hardly gamebreaking.

A way to go back all the way to the last conference would be pretty nice though.

The best maps
I'm proud with Po Valley especially, Rhin et Danube (3rd try, with paratroopers help) and End et The Elbe (also 3rd try)
