Unity of command 2 on Linux

Unread postby aulty » Wed Nov 13, 2019 3:29 am

Does anyone know if unity of command 2 runs on Linux or mac?

I am wondering specifically if it runs on Linux via proton? I note that protondb does not have any data for the game yet https://www.protondb.com/app/809230

Could anyone who has the game and a Linux install please try the game?

I am specifically running ubuntu 18.10

I am running the game under Wine on Ubuntu 18.04. The sound does not work, but everything else appears to. I haven´t tried fiddling with things to get the sound working yet.

Technical notes:
I installed 64 bit Wine 4.19 in PlayOnLinux environment. Wine is configured to emulate Windows 10 (Windows 7 emulation does NOT work).
I installed d3dx9, d3d10, d3d11 and corefonts, and set the wine command line parameter -no-cef-sandbox before installing Steam.
I followed the following directions to get steam to find the steam servers: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/c ... o_content/

Steam is having a lot of problems with this setup. But, I can get to UoC2 and install/play it (through task bar, not through the Steam library.)

it's working for me on puppylinux using the linux version of steam, sound also works!

to install it on the linux version of steam ....
steam settings >>> steam play >>>enable steam play for all other titles.
i then selected proton in the 'run titles with' box. steam will then restart and allow the install
of unity of command 2.

note that proton requires python3 to be installed and a pretty new llvm. will probably work on bionic upwards

the latter 3 three are installed, but python3.6-minimal is not availible (though apt says thats its referenced but not availible) - usind the standard 1910 repos (universe, restricted + multiverse)

seems its only availible in 18.04:

it might be 3.7 versions in your Ubuntu. try typing python3 into a terminal to get the version, or look in /use/bin to see the version
