How do I accept a bonus card from a secondary objective into my when my hand is already full?

Very late reply, but for anyone in future who has the same question:

AFAIK there's a hard limit on how many cards you can have in your hand, so you can't accept the new card unless you use/discard a card that's already in your hand.
