It would be handy to have a way to restart a battle but return to the previously saved battle preparations. The rationale is that a battle can be lost through bad luck or bad tactical decisions, but the preparation stage was fine or just needs a little fine-tuning. It can be very tedious to have to repeat the same battle preparation steps over and over again after each lost or surrendered battle, especially on large scenarios.

Hi, this is already on the to-do list however, it's not easy to do because of some technical reasons.

I believe we'll come around to doing eventually because it's a good quality-of-life improvement.
