Force Pool question

Unread postby Dayvit78 » Mon Nov 09, 2020 8:10 am

Hi all,

I've played Unity of Command and really enjoyed it, so I just bought UoC II and I'm enjoying it even more. I think I've gotten a handle on most of the mechanics, but I have a few questions about the force pool. (Apologies if this was answered elsewhere, I read the manual and couldn't find it)

1) Where can you see each army's force pool? Can you see it in the conference screen or the scenario selection screen? Can you see it during the battle?

2) Are the forces persistent across scenarios for each army? ie, if I get one of my tanks killed, will it reappear later? are the steps preserved across scenarios?

3) How can you buy new units (not steps and specialists - I see I can do that before the scenario starts and from the elite card)?

Thank you!

Hi!

1. In-game, select the HQ (not the unit): you will see that the HQ UI is brass-colored (as opposed to black-colored when a unit is selected).

Click on the deploy menu: this is the entirety of this HQ's forces. You can also deploy from this list - in some situations it's easier to deploy this way.

2. Units are persistent. If a unit gets killed, but appears in a future scenario, your parent HQ will re-create it with 3-step strength, but you lose the XP.

3. You cannot buy new units, the order of battle is tied to historical circumstances. There is a limited ability to deploy Para divisions via card, and security units via the HQ "security unit" action.

Cheers!

Thank you. That's very helpful.

I also just learned about the extended march. I'm glad this game as such great depth, yet is still accessible.
