Yes, with such an asymmetric game mirrored plays make a lot of sense. I've always played like that with UoC in MP.

Start up a turn. We will play a mirrored game. You send me your german turn, and I will send you one as well when I get home from work later on.

Dang I'm only just getting to Stalingrad in the Axis campaign...hope I can get a decisive win.
Yah there's a VideoGameGeek, it is smaller than most video game sites but, like with Board Game geek I do "discover" a lot of games through it. Good stuff.

I played out that turn and hit end, the little wheel with the seconds on it kept spinning... and spinning... and spinning... ten minutes later I shut down the game using task manager. I will go see if it 'saved properly', or if I have to play it again. Will also send you my own german turn.

This is a known issue, you should update to version 1.01 as described
here.
