crash during replay

Unread postby conboy323 » Thu Jan 07, 2016 1:21 pm

Just got my first brilliant victory and on replay Unity of Command crashed. Occurred during replay of Race to Rostov. When trying to resume campaign, the upper right corner shows three victories, one of which is the recent brilliant victory at Rostov, but it says the campaign is over at 43% (3 of 7). there is no other button to push to try to advance to the next scenario - I've tried everything to unstick it. It'll still replay, just won't advance to next scenario. Also, when the Campaign map shows at Campaign startup, it is highlighted on Saturn, not Rostov, even though the upper right corner displays that I won at Rostov. Any way to recover this Campaign status, or do I need to start over and not use replay anymore?

Short version of question -- Any way to recover current campaign status when you can't resume/advance it after a crash caused by replay?

Hi conboy323!

Deleteing the last save in the campaign might help. You will lose your last scenario playthrough (Rostov), but it should restore your campaign to a proper state and allow you to proceed.

See here for information on how to find the location of campaign save files:
https://unityofcommand.net/wiki/FAQ#Wher ... another.3F

First exit Unity of Command, and then delete the file with the biggest starting number in the save/campaign folder (like 05_ *scenario name* .usg).

Then start the game again, and see if you can continue the campaign after playing Rostov.

Please let me know how it goes by replying here - good luck!

Thanks very much, asque! Will try it. Was hoping to save the brilliant victory, but that's the way it goes!

Aesqe, your suggestion worked and I replayed Rostov and got another brilliant victory! but something is going on - i got to the same point where the info box says the same thing - campaign over, 3 of 7 for 40% with a brilliant victory. so I wonder if I'm missing something and the campaign really is over -- but I think there should be another button to push so I can keep fighting.

I have attached a picture of the offending predicament... something is missing. thanks for helping already!

Now I don't think it had anything to do with replay because I didn't replay this one.

@conboy323: you need a decisive victory in "Little Saturn" to proceed to the next scenario ("Don Offensives").

If you click on "Little Saturn" on the campaign map, you should see the text "Don Offensives" preceeded by a red X mark in the lower right corner of the game window. If you move your mouse over that area, you'll see a tooltip stating "No progress. Decisive victory was required."

So, you need to replay "Little Saturn" and yield a decisive victory before you can proceed to "Don Offensives" :)
