Re: Opponent wanted, any scenario

Yes, with such an asymmetric game mirrored plays make a lot of sense. I've always played like that with UoC in MP.

Re: A review in progress

It certainly isn't possible to win (standard victories) until you've played a few times. I think I took about 10 tries before I could even win 2nd Karkov, but that isn't the easiest scenario to start on. What was important was that every time I lost learned something critical, so it wasn't that much...

Re: A review in progress

"Unfortunately there are no difficulty settings, so you either meet the challenge set by the developers or, well, you don't" - Not really accurate; Since there are variable victory levels, for easy you aim for "standard victory", for normal you aim for "decisive victory"...

Re: Steam ?

Certainly $30 will not be too popular outside the wargaming niche, but I think it depends more whether they plan to keep it at that price forever (as Matrix Games games often do) or whether they plan to put it on sale, discount it over time and/or offer it in expansion bundles (e.g. if they release ...

The problem with them is that they are entirely ineffective against city hexes, and could cause them to become ruins (increasing the defensive value from a -2 to -3 modifier). The critical prob...

Re: Stalingrad

That is the way I do it too, in order to be able to get their quickly. I used to be able to make an effective horizontal attack, but quite sensible changes since the beta make that pretty much impossible to do quickly (specifically Soviet tanks are more powerful and 88s are less powerful - I used to...

Re: Testing 1.01 PATCH

Honestly, we were amazed in the closed beta that the game was already so polished and stable. We mostly worked on balance issues and most actual problems were resolved before release. They did modify balance quite a bit in the beta and generally games don't re-balance too much for SP, but only for M...

Re: Captured Supply Depots

Capturing only denies the enemy; it doesn't give you the supplies. Logically, many supply sources (in the game) aren't depots, but connections to off-map depots, so capturing them would just stop the enemy sending supplies along the train-line so you wouldn't get anything anyway.
