Although you didn't really phrase any questions or discussion points and instead made more of a thought dump, I thought I'd still take a minute and write a word or two.
I think you are mostly correct. There is a great 20 year old article that really nails the difference between detail and realism ...

Re: version 1.05
Probably too late for you, but for anyone else passing by:
"Here are the instructions on how to upgrade Unity of Command to the latest available version. Currently, this is version 1.04d or 1.05 (they are identical). You can check which version you are running by going to Main Menu -> Credits. The ...

Re: Negative prestige
The second screenshot was taken after you reloaded Edelweiss I suppose?
The way I understood this is you spend those 490 prestige on your first try, then reloaded and the negative score still stayed negative instead of being reset?
Maybe if you complete Edelweiss to the end the prestige value will ...

Re: need help
What do you mean? Are you saying you already had the game and the DLC as a non-steam non-DRM version and now you bought them again but this time for steam?
In that case perhaps there is something weird going on. Tomislav should be able to answer you once he drops by.

Re: In celebration of the imminent release of Black Turn
Well done!
I'm also doing a BV Axis campaign in anticipation of the new DLC, only without spending prestige.
Baku & Kuibyshev are the last two scenarios left for me, then it's off to the Russian campaign, which I have never done before.

December 10th it says on steam and I read it several times here, probably on the blog.

New trailer + Sale + New DLC = well done!
Wow, is that a new Steam trailer? Much better and more professional than the old one!
You can watch it here: m
Also in case you haven't noticed, Unity of Command and the Red Turn DLC are on sale right now for -70% on Steam as well as on Amazon.com (though the latter is only relevant for people ...

Stalingrad in 6 Turns
I thought there must be some faster and more risky way to take Stalingrad even before turn 7, so I tried a more radical and less... realistic approach to taking the city.
And lo and behold, I actually ended up taking the city at turn 6!
The replay is a zip-file of my entrie current campaign BV-no ...

Re: Suggestions Thread
I got several suggestions, but here's two:
1) It's probably not possible to implement this now because of balancing, but it always bothered me that two divisions can't "change places". Say you have two adjacent units, each with at least one movement point left... none of them entered a ZOC, so now ...

Re: Race for Rostov AAR -> reinforcing feedback plz
Writing this because I found Race for Rostov the easiest scenario to get a BV in by far - got one in turn 4 on my first attempt.
Absolutely, Race for Rostov is probably the easiest scenario for scoring a BV, it is scored way too forgiving. I actually watched my own BV replay of this scenario from ...
