Re: Race for Rostov

First time I was able to get a brilliant victory. The Germans did threaten my supplies in the centre, but by the time they got to the river, they'd been out of supply for 2-3 turns and therefore no threat. I kept my composure and resisted the urge to send frontline units back to deal with the threat...

Re: Orel/Bryansk

I just plaued this one for the first time, and was happy with a 460/700 victory. I actually got Orel one less turn than required. I like the longer time limit as well. Re: Astrakhan

I feel like a loser - 3 tries at this scenario and I just eke out a minor victory on turn 7!

Re: Stalingrad?

I think Bagration would be quite spectacular. I realize it would involve, what, 5 or 6 campaigns similar to Stalingrad by itself to be played at once lol. One can dream though...

Re: Stalingrad reading list?

I found a book called "The Secret of Stalingrad" by Walter Kerr. I just stumbled upon it in a used bookstore not too long ago. It was published in 1978, and is quite fascinating. If one can believe the author, it was he who first "discovered" the details of the 10 Reserve armies ...
