I'm looking at the work-in-progress and it looks very close to complete...

I must admit I am feeling slightly frustrated too, as I've been doing not much more than refreshing my browser for the past few hours :?

Will let it go live as soon as they're done though :)

Great! Congrats Imperial Dane, you are The Customer Zero :). I hope everything went smooth with the payment for you.

Please do report back with first impressions.

P. S. Tomislav fell into a release-induced coma. I'm working on reanimating him right now. He should be back among us in a minute... hopefully

I don't remember testers complaining about download time. We'll look into it.

These downloads are now from Plimus, they're not from our site anymore.

I did test the whole setup this morning though, and the download was fast. So I'm slightly surprised at this. If anyone is experiencing similar problems please report.

And yeah, I'm back :D

It went alright in the beginning, but then quickly dropped to only a few kilobytes per second. And i'm used to megabytes. So somthing is off i'd say.

As for first impressions. Well some manner in reversing accidental actions would be nice, but that could lead to abuse i suppose. And the ability to restart the singular scenario too... The tutorial was nice, quite clever actually. Nice touch there :D

So far fun to see all the units here and there, hungarian, romanian, even a few italians :P The flow of the game is great, the AI.. Vicious. Fun to play against :P the music is good, though a bit nondescript at times... A part of me would like to perhaps hear some minor voice acting, at least some sort of brief report as to how the battle went :P Could be a nice atmospheric touch i think.

The art is quite nice, i mean i like how you can for the most part easily differentiate between units and there's a bit of flavour too it as well. Although it would be nice if the added specialist steps had something a bit more visual as it can be a bit hard to see at times.
And for some reason, and that's probably because i'm a history nerd, but some small bit of historical flavour would be fun, even if just to describe your average Romanian and hungarian divisions, and why you've decided to make them equal in stats :P

Played the tutorial sevastopol and the first two missions of the German campaign, no huge victories yet, though still victories. Lost most of my prestige at Kharkov.. Things got a bit out of hand and i needed extra Panzers and the Leibstandarte to pull things together. Still, very simple on top, yet one can clearly sense the depth the game has :) And i'm looking forward to playing through the campaign.. although i might want to replay the first two missions again so i can get some prestige.

So definately looking forward to more from you lot :D

Thanks for that first impression... it's kind of like the first day of testing all over again, only with slightly less bugs :-)

I must admit I'm at the end of my tether now... will probably crash. It's been a long two days in the end, although it looked like it would be rather relaxed initially. Anyway, see you in the post-release thread :)

a question regarding graphics resolution if I may.

I have a wide screen monitor 1920 x 1080 native. Will this game display natively at that size? ( I can't tolerate games that stretch to full screen and look fuzzy!)

Also, can I please ask you to define exactly what 'Multiplayer via the Internet' means -
Does this mean it interfaces through the Slitherine PBEM++ system or is it a straight manual email system?
Is there any security features included in the Multiplayer mode (ie to discourage cheating via reloading of turn)?

thanks and good luck with your release.
