Case Blue 1942 (Hitler is Dead!)

Fictional scenario: Hitler dies as his plane unexpectedly explodes 
on the way back from the front in March 1942. A power struggle ends with Himmler, Goering and Goebbels dead. The Wehrmacht asserts control and puts Veder Von Bach in control as a wartime supreme commander. Its to late to switch the focus of the summer 1942 campaign. 54 german and 24 axis allied divisions have been assembled to take the caucuses. However, the focus has changed.
Operation Thors Hammer: Push to Stalingrad the push to cut the caucasus from the rest of Russia. Suck as many Soviet divisions into the fray and destroy them. Weaken the defenses of Moscow, cut off caucus defenders and let them wither. Set up the battle for Moscow in early spring 1943. The new panzers are being developed in preparation for that offensive. You must destroy stalingrad and use Stalin vanity to our advantage by forcing Stalin to reinforce south of Moscow.
Sepp Dietrich has assumed control of the SS and has swore loyalty to the fatherland and its new Commander and Chief for the sake of the Reich.
